Cover-Ups Tattoo Healing — Year 1

Cover-ups tattoo at year 1 (12 months): what's normal, Vegas desert notes, and studio photos when documented. Work of Art Las Vegas.

Long-term proof — how Vegas wear treats ink

One year is the gold standard for healed portfolio documentation. We photograph the same client when possible — see our Real Client Timeline and style galleries.

What's normal

  • Linework and values readable at arm's length.
  • Blacks still deep if SPF and aftercare followed.
  • Fine line letterforms still legible on inner arm.
  • Portraits retain likeness if values were planned for healing.

Watch for — not typical

  • Major blur or fade in non-sun-exposed areas — unusual; consult artist.
  • Touch-up need on high-detail realism after year — sometimes normal for hands.

Call Work of Art

  • Annual check-in photos for our Healing Database updates.
  • Plan refresh or add-on work with healed skin as canvas.

See a doctor

  • Skin cancer screening if new pigment changes within tattoo.

We share general aftercare education — not medical advice.

Las Vegas desert notes

  • Year-round Vegas UV: SPF remains daily on exposed tattoos.
  • Compare to fresh photo — slight softening is art settling, not failure.

Studio documentation

Studio photo for this style and stage is not yet documented. See our healed gallery and real client timeline for available proof.

Fine grey transitions around the hourglass glass — the kind of piece that fails if values are too soft on day one.
