Tattoo Healing Day 4 — What to Expect

Active peeling — keep hands off

Peeling accelerates on day four for many clients. The tattoo often looks worst this week — that is normal, not a sign the artist failed.

What's normal

• Flakes fall off during washing — do not force them.
• Mild itch; tattoo may look 'foggy' until fresh skin completes.
• Continue light lotion 2–3× daily in Vegas dry air.

Watch for — not typical

• Raw shiny patches that bleed when bumped.
• Lines that look completely gone (rare — usually just buried under peel; wait two weeks before panic).

• Hand or foot tattoo with heavy peel and job requirements — we advise on gloves and downtime.
